  • Agriculture was the primary occupation with nearly 75% of the population engaged in agriculture for livelihood. 
  • Manufacturing and service sector accounted for only a small section of the total workforce. While in the manufacturing sector 10% of the workforce was engaged, on the other hand, in the services sector 15% of the workforce was engaged. 
  • There was unbalanced growth in the sense that the three sectors were not equally developed. While on one hand the agriculture was comparatively developed, on the other hand, the service and manufacturing sector were only at an infant stage.
