Q. A lift moves at the rate of 3m per 15 seconds in a skyscraper. If the lift starts coming down from a height of 70 m then find its position after 12 minutes .
Distance it can travel per 15 sec= 3 m
Distance it can travel in 1 min (15 x 4) = 3 x 4 = 12 m
Distance it started from ground = 70 m
Distance it travelled in 12 minutes = 12 x 12 = 144 m
= 144 - 70
= 74 m (Hence lift will travel upwards after coming down 70 metres)
F. Statement : The lift will be 4 metres above it's current position
