Plzzz  ... send your views about this... in our NCERT Textbook for class 10the - on pg 161 this question is qiven .... and the answer given at the back is """ NO QUADRILATERAL''''''''   I solved that question {Q6. (2} as follows......... please tell me ...  will the quadrilateral be formed or not ... or is there any other method .....  plzzz reply ....

Name the type of quadrilateral formed, if any, by the following points, and give reasons for your answer:  (ii) (− 3, 5), (3, 1), (0, 3), (− 1, − 4)

Let the points (− 3, 5), (3, 1), (0, 3), and (−1, −4) be representing the vertices A, B, C, and D of the given quadrilateral respectively.

It can be observed that all sides of this quadrilateral are of different lengths. Therefore, it can be said that it is only a general quadrilateral, and not specific such as square, rectangle, etc . .....  but in my book the answer is written as "NO QUADRILATERAL''   .......WHY......plzz ....

It was an error in the NCERT book. As we have four given points so when we plot them on the graph paper and joins them then a closed figure having four points is formed which is known as a quadrilateral.

Now, as per the given condition we have,

So, AB ≠ BC ≠ CD ≠ AD.

Hence, the said quadrilateral will be a closed figure not a specific figure like square, parallelogram, rectangle etc.

Hope you get it!!
