Some precautionary measures are:
(a) A cyclone forecast and warning service should be constituted by the Government.
(b) Rapid communication of warnings should be provided to general public, fisherman, government agencies.
(c) Administrative measure should be in place to move people fast to safer places.
(d) People should not touch wet switches and fallen power lines.
(e) People should not drink contaminated water.
(f) People should heed to the warnings given by meterological department through radio, television and newspaper.
