Prove that the hybridisation of Be is sp in BeCl 2 .

basically ; 
in Be there are 4 electrons 1s2 and 2s2
so during hybridisation the 2s2 electrons get exited to 2s1 , 2px1. 2py 2pz0
as there are unpaired electrons in 2s1 and 2p​x1 the cl atoms will combine with these orbitas to form BeCl2
so now there ar two sp hybrib orbitals and hence we can say that hybrid of be in BeCl2 is sp .
