Ritwik, as a younb boy lived in the slums with his mother and sister. His father was dead and so, he had to start looking after the family from a very tender age. He started rag-picking so as to make both ends meet. He was nine years old when the director of an NGO named “Just Hope” spotted him. This person adopted him and sent him to school. With determination and hard work, Ritwick moved ahead in life. He went on to head the very NGO. This story is one that brings hope to many others who live in the slums, devoid of any hope and expectation.
