Q 7 8 and 9

Q7. What happen to the electrical conductivity when a metal is heated?

Q8. Which colour appears on the surface of aluminium when it is kept in air for sometimes?

Q9. Which property of copper and aluminium makes then suitable for making boilers and cooking.

Dear Student,

7. On heating, the electrical conductivity of metals decreases since electrons move faster due to absorption of heat energy, resulting in more collision, thereby increasing resistance.

When metals are heated, their electrical conductivity decreases since electrons move faster due to absorbing heat energy and resulting in more collision, thereby increasing resistance.
This reduces conductivty.
Hope it helps!

7. Electrical conductivity of the metal increases with increase in temperature due to increase in kinetic energy of the inner particles of the metals.
8. Red brown color will be observed.
9. It's so because they are good conductors of heat.
