Q.  how does the novel begin ? do you get a ghostly feeling?why? (4 marks)

The novel begins with a stranger arriving at the village of Iping. He goes to the inn to get a room for himself. He is a very unusual sight to see, wrapped up completely and carrying a portmanteau in his gloved hand and his hat covering his face. As he comes in the inn, he very rudely demands a room and a fire for himself. After reading this, we get a creepy feeling about this stranger and wonder if he is a ghost.
