Q). How many protons are present in 1.8 g N H 4 + :-
(1) N A
(2) 1.2 N A
(3) 1.1 N A
(4) 11 N A

Dear student,
1 molecule of NH4+ has 11 protons. Hence 1 mole NH4+ will have 11 mole protons.
Moles of NH4+ = 1.8/18 = 0.1.
Hence number of protons = 0.1 x 11 x NA = 1.1 NA.
Correct answer  is (3).

Hope it helps

  • 0
molar mass(nh4+)= 18 gm
no. of protons in one nh4+ ion=7+4=11
no. of protons in 1 mole NH4+= 11*NA

no. of moles=given mass /molar mass=1.8/18=0.1
no. of protons in 0.1 mole NH4+=0.1*11*NA=1.1NA

4 is the answer
