I believe that it is related to the concept of 'business intelligence'. The business intelligence is concerned about gathering and presenting the data of different organisational aspects in an organised manner. This helps and facilitates the managers to frame decision making and policy-formulation. Normally, all the businesses at the present day employ business intelligence tools for customer support, product profitability, inventory and stock management, distribution mechanism, market segmentation, competitor analyses and market research.
