Q: Make a distance-time graph and displacement-time graph for the following situation:
You are taking a 2-wheeler to petrol pump to your initial point.


The above figure shows the time vs distance and time vs displacement graph. Here I have considered that 2-wheeler is moving with constant velocity.
The first graph shows distance vs time. From time 0 to t1 the bike is going to petrol pump which is at distance d. Now from time t1 to t2 the bike is standing at petrol pump. Then from time t2 to t4 the bike will go back to initial point. Since the distance is scalier quantity it will be 2d.
Second graph is displacement vs time. every thing is same except that when the bike will go back to initial point the displacement will be zero since the displacement is a vector quantity.
