Q. Pl explain arrow pointing between calcareous sediments and C O 2

Calcareous sediments are present at the bottom of the sea as the remains of the planktonic organisms. Carbon dioxide is present in the deeper waters.  
This arrow shows that carbon dioxide present in water causes calcium carbonate shells to dissolve.
