Dear student,  

​                      Grasslands are lush green. So, the animals living in such areas have special adaptations that make them suit better to the environmental conditions there.

Adaptations in animals living in grasslands-

1. Adapted to dry, windy conditions. 
2. Mainly grazing animals .
3. Some of them may be burrowing animals.
4. Have great speed to run from predators
5. Have a keen sense of smell and/or sight.

There is extreme heat in the desert. Therefore, desert animals have the following adaptations that allows them to survive in the desert.
​Adaptations in animals living in desert regions-

1. They contain a thin fur layer under their bellies so that there is a lesser escape of heat from the bodies. e.g. camel.
2. Some animals such as camels also decrease their kidney function.
3. Some animals like an owl keep its mouth wide open so as to facilitate more evaporation.
