The pilot called Paris control room for the first time because he wanted to go to England and wanted to know the direction in which he should move the Dakota.
The pilot tried to contact Paris control for the second time because at that time it was impossible for the pilot to see anything outside the aeroplane and the Dakota jumped and twisted in the air.
The pilot looked at the compass and the compass was turning round and round. He assumed it was dead. The other instruments were suddenly dead, too. Then he contacted Paris control but no answer came. He assumed that the radio was dead too..
