Q1. Answer the following
(A) A metal 'X' reacts with dilute hydrochloric acid to form a gas 'Y'. The metal 'X' also reacts with sodium hydroxide solution ( on heating) to form the same gas 'Y' . When a lighted matchstick is applied, this gas burns with a 'pop sound'. On the other hand the metal 'Z' does not react with dilute hydrochloric acid even on heating but it reacts with conc. Sulphuric acid.

(1)
Name two examples of metal that would behave like 'X'.
(2)
Name the gas 'Y'.
(3)
Identify 'Z'

Dear student,

Zinc and aluminium reacts with dilute hydrochloric acid as well as sodium hydroxide to form hydrogen gas.
Hydrogen gas is identified by the pop sound when matchstick is burn ear it.
Copper does not react with dilute hydrochloric acid but with conc. sulphuric acid.

1) X can be Zinc and Aluminium
2) Y is H2
3) Z is copper
