July Revolution 1830: The liberals revolted to topple the conservative regime of the Bourbon rulers in the July Revolt of 1830.It brought about the installation of a constitutional monarchy in France with Louis Philippe as its head.The July Revolution sparked an uprising in Brussels which led to Belgium breaking away from the United Kingdom of the Netherlands.It mobilised nationalist feelings among the educated elite across Europe.

Romanticism refers to a cultural movement which developed a particular form of nationalist movement.Romantic artists and poets criticised the glorification of reason and science and it focused on emotions, intuitions, feelings etc.Its main aim was to create collective and rich heritage as the basis of forming nation. It was through folk songs, poetry, dances that the true spirit of nation was popularized.
