We know that for ideal transformer power is constant that
means
VI = constant =k
If V is increased 2V Let corresponding change in current is
I'
Then 2V I' = k
=> 2V I' = VI
=> I' = I/2
Hence when the voltage is stepped up by certain factor the
current get stepped down by the same factor
