Q9(d)?

Dear student,

Evans was a prisoner in the Oxford Prison. He had been successful in escaping from the prison thrice and so was known as ‘Evans the Break’. He was a sly but an intelligent runaway prisoner. Thus, when he presented a strong desire to appear for an O-Level exam people doubted his sincerity and thought it could be yet another antic of his to escape the prison. In the end, we see that people's fears do come true.

Regards
