question 5

5.  4 moles of A are mixed with 4 moles of B, When 2 moles of C are formed at equilibrium according to the reaction A + B   C + D. The value of equilibrium constant is

(A) 4                                                        (B) 1
(C) 1/2                                                     (D) 1/4

Dear Student,

The given reaction is :
                                                  A + B C +D at t = 0        4      4       0      0According to stiochiometric coefficient 1 mol of A produces 1 mol of C. So, 2 mol of C is produced by 2 mol of A &2 mol of B .at eqm       2       2        2     2
      So, the equilibrium constant ,
                                       K = CDAB     =2 × 2 2×2     = 1
So, the equilibrium constant is equal to 1.

So, the correct option is (B).

Regards.
