a.  Despite the presence of adequate food in the country, around 40% of Indians are undernourished.
b. This is because of the  flaws in our PDS system unsystematic distribution of food .
 c. Some states in the country ensure smooth running of ration shops and ensure periodic check to ensure availability of food grains to all
d. They ensure food is available to all at subsidised rate and reaches the targeted beneficiaries
e. But corruption, red tapism, delays and lack of political will and proper implementation in many states allows for food to rot .
f. Due to which people are deprived of good healthy food .
g. Further, excess of food export and lack of adequate supply reslus in nearly 40% of the Indian people are undernourished.
