Question no. 7 pls tell 7 It tne water stands 19 cm above the interface ana GI stanas 24 cm aoove Ine inrerlace The density of ice is 917 kg/m3 and the approximate density the seawater in which an iceberg floats is 1025 kg/m3. What fraction of the iceberg is beneath the water surface? A piece of brass (alloy Of copper and zinc) weighs When conwetely immersed in water it weighs .3 gram. What is the mass of copper contained In the alloy? Relative densities of copper zinc are 8.9 and 7.1 respectively. A metal piece mass g water as shown in the figure. The piece touches tt•E botton1 of the glass at a srnall number of pdnts If tie density of the metal is 8000 kg/m3, find ttw normal force exerted by the bottom of the glass on he metal

Dear student

as given,
mass of brass in air = 12.9 gm
mass of brass in water = 11.3 gm
relative density of copper is 8.9
relative density of zinc is 7.1

Now , mass of water displaced is 12.9 - 11.3 = 1.6 gm
or volume of alloy is 1.6 cc
Now suppose,
 If alloy contain x gram copper, then zinc is (12.9-x)
 Now volume of alloy = volume of copper+ volume of zinc
                            1.6 =      x    + 12.9-x
                                        8.9        7.1
                                 =     7.1x + 8.9(12.9-x)
                                 =     7.614 gm

                               Mass of copper is 7.614 gm.

I hope this will help you
Your truly
Gourav
