Question no. 7 pls tell
Dear student
as given,
mass of brass in air = 12.9 gm
mass of brass in water = 11.3 gm
relative density of copper is 8.9
relative density of zinc is 7.1
Now , mass of water displaced is 12.9 - 11.3 = 1.6 gm
or volume of alloy is 1.6 cc
Now suppose,
If alloy contain x gram copper, then zinc is (12.9-x)
Now volume of alloy = volume of copper+ volume of zinc
1.6 = x + 12.9-x
8.9 7.1
= 7.1x + 8.9(12.9-x)
= 7.614 gm
Mass of copper is 7.614 gm.
I hope this will help you
