If your classroom had 38 pupils and 1 was absent on Monday , 2 on Tuesday, 4 on Wednesday, 0 on Thursday , 3 on Friday. What was the average daily attendance ?

No of students present on different days

Monday - 38-1 = 37

Tuesday- 38-2 = 36

Wednesday- 38-4 = 34

Thursday - 38 - 0 = 38

Friday- 38-3 = 35

Average daily attendance = Sum of students present on all days/ no of days

= 37+36+34+38+35/5= 180/5 = 36

Hence, the average daily attendance of the class was 36
