Radha was doing an experiment. She used different sources of light such as Bulb,Torch, Tube light and a Candle to form the shadow of the same object. The object was always kept at the same distance from the light source and the wall(screen).Would the size and the shape of the object be the same in each case ???

Why or Why Not ???

Dear Student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query:

Since the distance of the object and the screen is constant from the light source in each case then, it is sure that the shape and the size of the image in each case will be exactly the same. it would have been different if any of the two distances were altered.

In the above case only the intensity of the image will differ from light source to light source depending upon the amount of light given by the source.

the shape of the shadow changes because the source's shape from which light is coming changes so the direction of the light rays also changes resulting the shape change in the shadow
