Time at which Raj came back from the school = 7:56 pm

= 12:00 + 7:56 pm

= 19:56 pm [As we are calculating the time according to 24–hour clock]

$∴ Time spent by Raj in the school = 19 : 56 - 5 : 23 14 : 33$

So, Raj has spent 14 hours and 33 minutes studying in the school.

Time at which Raj goes for playing = 8:00 pm

Time at which Raj came back at home = 9:39 pm

$∴ Time for which he plays = 9 : 39 - 8 : 00 1 : 39$

So, Raj has played for 1 hour and 39 minutes.
