Ram and Shyam have some chocolates. If Shyam gives Ram a chocolate they will both have same number of chocolates. If Ram gives Shyam a chocolate then Ram will have half the number of chocolates Shyam has. How many chocolates does each of them have?
Sol:
Ram has 'x', Shyam has 'y'
A/Q, x+1 = y-1 --> y-x=2
And, x-1 = (y+1)/2 --> 2x-y = 3
Solving (1) and (2), we have x=5, y=7
Thus, Ram has 5 chocolates and Shyam has 7 chocolates.
