Read the extracts given below and comment on the difference in the nature of help both the characters, of these two stories, received.
a) Suddenly I came out of the clouds and saw two straight lines of lights in front of me. It was a runway! An airport! I was safe! I turned to look for my friend in the black aeroplane but the sky was empty. [The Black Aeroplane]
b) All through the night Lencho thought only of his one hope: the help of God…The following Sunday, at daybreak he began to write a letter…It was nothing less than a letter to God...The following Sunday Lencho came a bit earlier than usual to ask if there was a letter for him…. Lencho showed not the slightest surprise on seeing the money, such was his confidence. [A Letter to God]

Dear Student,
The answer to your question is as follows:
a) In the chapter, The Black Aeroplane, the pilot was aided by an anonymous pilot who helped him get out of the storm. The anonymous pilot did the needful and rescued him out of the storm and vanished without letting him have an opportunity to know his identity. However, he is left utterly shocked when he finds out that his was the only plane in the sky. This shows that it was fated for him to reach safely and the anonymous pilot must have been a figment of his imagination and his motivation helped him to reach safely.

b) Lencho is aided by the post office employees who wanted him to keep his faith in God intact. They helped him out of humanity and let him believe in God's solidarity. This shows that God has created human beings in order to help each other in times of need.
