The City is Unsafe

The recent newspaper reports on our city really shocked me. The alarming rate by which the crime is increasing is a matter of grave concern.
Seeing such reports daily has an intimidating effects on the residents. We feel unsafe and terrified even during day time. We cannot go alone outside our homes, and if we go there is always an air of pressure, extra cautiousness and uneasiness of our surroundings on us. It is not a healthy situation especially of a city which was known for its safety, liveliness a couple of years back. We should really study what changed in a few years to change the conditions so enormously. As per me, TV seems to have a big impact on our youth who have been committing majority of the crimes. With no filter on what to watch they have been exposed to content that had a negative impact on their minds. To add to this the growing issue of unemployment with a madness to become rich easily and quickly has polluted their brains with wrong and malicious ideas. They either turn towards drugs to ease themselves, or get involved in crimes to earn easy money or both. A drug addicted criminal could be more dangerous as he does things not in his conscious state, and the craving for more drugs forcefully gets him into the dark side of the world.
It's time we take steps to stop this ongoing act and also work towards its prevention in future. The police should become more alert in its patrolling and strict laws should be enforced to punish the offenders. A deterrent policy is required to put a stop. We must prune the young generation with good and healthy thoughts so that they do not indulge in such acts. There should be proper guidance in school, at home and focus should be given on moral and mental education. The parental control is must during young age to make the sure how the kid is spending the day, this will pave way for a better future. With all the control, it should be made sure the kids are not unnecessarily pressurized to perform, as in such cases the impact is seen to reverse and negative.
Let's work together in this and make our city a safe place to live in again.
