11 a.m.

Dear Diary,

Today is the second day of our trip to Shimla and I am enjoying it thoroughly. Daddy has chosen a hotel that is located in between two mountains. The mountains appear to be right next to the window of the hotel room. I can also see snow-capped mountains in the distant. It is lovely to watch the sun rise and set from my hotel room. During sun rise the snow capped peaks become a riot of colors. 

Yesterday, we visited the apple valley located near Shimla. Although, there were no full-grown apples I could make out the shape in the tiny apples hanging from the branches of the trees. These tiny apples will grow into the big ones that we purchase in the markets. The trees were laden with the small apples. Our guide took us to the oldest apple tree in the garden. According to him, it was the first apple tree to be planted in Shimla. Most of the trees in the garden are descendants of this apple tree.

After that we visited a beautiful lake, in which we took boat rides. Mummy was initially afraid to ride one, but we convinced her to join us. All of us enjoyed the calm waters of the lake and the overall serene atmosphere. I am already looking forward to our trip around Shimla, which we will take today.
