Role of human being in biodiversity conservation

Dear Student

Role of humans in biodiversity conservation :

Two types of conservation techniques have been used by hhumans.

1. In-situ conservation: Conservation of biodiversity in the natural habitat is called in situ conservation.
In this approach,  some of the world’s biodiversity hotspots (with high degree of biodiversity and endemism) have been identified and are protected. In India, biosphere reserves, wildlife sanctuaries, and national parks are built for this purpose.
2. Ex-situ conservation : Conservation of biodiversity in the man-made protected environment habitat is called Ex-situ conservation. The threatened species of plants and animals are taken out of their habitats and are kept in special settings as in zoological parks, botanical gardens, and wildlife parks.
