'Sadao rose above the narrow prejudices of race'. Elucidate with reference to the lesson 'The Enemy'

?Dr. Sadao was a Japanese doctor who was raised by an extremely traditional Japanese father. When he finds the wounded prisoner on the beach and realises that it was an American soldier, he felt extremely conflicted. It is important to understand that, at that time Japan and America were enemies because of the war. So, Sadao had to make a decision. Should he, as a citizen of Japan, turn the prisoner in or should he fulfil his oath as a doctor, to save the wounded mans life. Ultimately, Sadao's humanitarian feelings rose above the narrow prejudice of race and country to help the prisoner.
