sadao was a dutiful son.quote two instances from the story to prove the truth of the statement

Sadao's father had great ambitions for his son. As a boy he was often taken to the islands of the sea and said encouraging things to his child about his future, the future of his country and about it being filled with limitless possibilities. Sadao had taken into his mind everything his father said because his father never joked or played with him. He was a man who spent infinite pains upon him who was his only son. Sadao knew that his education was his father's chief concern and for this reason he had been sent to America to learn surgery and medicine. He had come back at thirty and before his father died he had seen Sadao become a famous surgeon and scientist. His father's approval was so important to Sadao that he had waited to fall in love with his wife Hana until he was sure about the fact that she was Japanese. His father would never have received her unless she had been pure in her race.
