sathish sold a camera to rajesh at a profit of 10 %.rajesh sold it to john at a loss of 12%. if john paid Rs. 4,840,at what price did sathish buy the camera?

Answer:

Let us assume that the Cost Price of the camera which Rajesh paid to Satish be Rs. x.

Selling Price of the camera by Rajesh = Rs. 4840.

As we know tha Loss% = (Cost Price - selling Price) / Cost price x 100

So:

12 = (x - 4840)/x x 100

12x = 100x - 484000

12x - 100x = - 484000

- 88x = - 484000

x = 484000/88 = Rs. 5500.

So the Cost Price of Rajesh will be the selling price of Satish, which is equal to Rs. 5500.

Again let us assume that Satish brougth the camera at a cost of Rs. y.

As we know thet Profit% = (Selling Price - Cost price) / Cost Price x 100

So:

10 = (5500 - y) / y x 100

10y = 550000 - 100y

10y + 100y = 550000

110y = 550000

y = 550000/110 = Rs. 5000.

Ans: Rs. 5000.
