Saturated and unsaturated solutions

A saturated solution is a solution that has dissolved as much solute as it is capable of dissolving. In a saturated solution, no more solute can be dissolved at a given temperature.

On the other hand, in an unsaturated solution the amount of solute contained is less than the saturation level. Hence an unsaturated solution can dissolve more solute at a given temperature.
