Select any 2 explorers of the world and write about their contribution in finding new land and sea routes

Dear student,
Vasco Da Gama (1460-1524) was an explorer who first linked Europe and Asia through the sea route. He was the first person to sail across the Cape of Good Hope. For reaching to the East, the Atlantic and the India ocean had to be crossed by the Portugues which led to open up more sea routes from all over Europe. Vasco Da Gama reached Calicut through sea route, which is known as Kozhikode, at Kerala in India now.
Christopher Columbus (1451-1506) was one of the Italian world explorers who continue sailing to the far west for finding a better sea route to enter the eastern country. Columbus continued visiting western land and lastly found central and South America. He was able to establish a prominent trade route between Europe and America by crossing the Atlantic Ocean several times.
