Seperation of 'inert gases' is which type of adsorption and why!?

Noble gases are separated by charcoal adsorption method. This method is known as Dewar Charcoal Adsorption method and is based on selective adsorption of noble gases on activated charcoal. The amount of adsorption depends upon atomic mass of the inert gas and the temperature of adsorption. The amount of adsorption increases with the increase in atomic mass of the inert gas and decrease in temperature. This difference in the adsorption capacity enables us to separate a mixture of inert gases. For eg. He will get least adsorbed on the charcoal surface while Xe will be the most adsorbed.
