Sol: Let the cost of a table be Rs x and that of a fan be Rs y
According to first condition, x + y = 5000 According to second
condition, 25 20 23 100 x+ 100 100 (x + y) Multiplying the equation
throughout by 100 25x + 20x = 23x + 23y 25x - 23x + 20x - 23y = 0
2x - 3y = 0 eq (2) Multiplying the equation (1) by 3, we get 3x +
3y 15000 eq (3) Adding equation (2) and (3) 2x - 3y = 0 3x + 3y =
15000 5x = 15000 15000 5 *x = 3000 Substituting x = 5000 in
equation no (1) x + y = 5000 * 3000 + y = 5000 "+ y = 5000 - 3000 *
y = 2000 The cost of the fan is Rs 2000
