short note on different stages of Indigo production

This answer is on page no.34 of history book.
After harvest,the indigo was taken to the vats in the indigo factory.Three or four vats are needed to do this process.They are as follows:
first vat - the leaves stripped off the indigo plant were first soaked in warm water for several houes.when the plants fermented the liquid began to boil and bubble.The rotten leaves were taken out and the liquid was further drained into other vat
second vat -solution was beaten with paddles and after it turned into blue or green colour .Then lime water was added .
third vat - it is also called as settling vat.the indigo pulp was transfered to this vat.it was pressed and dried for sale.
