Short note on Great India



India is our motherland. The name ‘India’ came from the name ‘Indus’ civilization, which is one of the oldest civilizations. It has a rich and glorious past. Since Vedic age India is known as place of knowledge. Learners from different parts of the world come here for their education. It has a vast landmass with so many mountains, rivers and plains. It shares it boundary with Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. It is a land of diversity. Different people, different cultures, still everyone is united. Every part of this country presents itself on an astonishing scale. .  India is rightly known as the land of unity in diversity. It is the birth places of many great personalities. Many famous saints like Gautama Buddha, Kabir, Mahavira and intellectuals like Barahamihira, C.V. Raman, J.C. Bose, H.J Bhaba and others were born here. India’s population is the second largest in the world, first being china. India has 29 states, one has been recently added, 7 union territories. India was once under the British rule but now it is a free country. India got its freedom on 15th august, 1947 by overthrowing the British people. The first prime minister of India was Jawaharlal Nehru while the first president was Dr. Rajendra Prasad. India has one of the largest constitutions.  It is a democratic country where everyone is equal irrespective of caste, creed and gender. We are really proud of our country.

The country India is very interesting in many ways. India is shaped by its ancient history, customs, there tradition and heritage from the past. India has a creative burst of cultures, religions and races. Every part of this country presents itself on an extraordinary scale. India is one of the worlds oldest civilizations. India great heritage has left Asia with outstanding architecture achievements including thousands of ancient temples scattered all over India.India is basically a peninsula with the Arabian Sea on the west. The Bay of Bengal is on the east and India Ocean to the south. The Himalaya Mountains separate India from much of the rest of Asia and china. The tallest mountain in India is Kanchenjunga at 28,208 feet on the north western end of India Most of southern India is the Deccan platen which is mostly hills with many rivers. India has four seasons winter is January and February. Summer is March to May. A monsoon season is June to September and a post monsoon period is October to December. Weather conditions in India are very unstable. There are floods cyclones and other natural disasters that take place. India has a unique geography and geologll that strongly influence its climate.India is a fascinating country where people of many different communities and religions live together in unity. This country population is amazing with many races and cultures. There are 1.13 billion people and the second largest country. India population increase over the years it even surpasses china.There are many languages spoken in India. The largest speaking language is the Indo-Aryan about 700 million people speak this language. The next will be Dardic language which 200 million speak the language. These two largest spoken languages belong to two major linguistic families who branches are Indo- Aryan and Dravidian family. Other languages spoken are persain, portugese. Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, French and English
