It regulates the operations of rural bank.
It provides short term credit for agricultural operations.
It conducts agricultural research and promotes rural development.
It take steps to improve credit delivery system.

Nabard refers to national bank for agriculture and rural development.
It is a bank which provides credit or loan facilities to farmers at cheap interest rate to meet their agriculture needs and to prevent them from paying a large amount of interest rate charged by money lenders and to prevent them from debt trap. It is one of the famous financial institution.
