Short note on UNO atleast 5 points
Dear student,
UNO stands for United Nations Organisation, it was established in 1945 after the Second World war.
It was set up with following aims:
i) to maintain international peace and security.
ii) to develop friendly relations among nations
iii) to promote co-operation economic, social, cultural, and humanitarian fields among nations
iv) to promote respect for human rights and fundamental freedom of all.
The main organs of UNO are:
i) Security Council
ii) General Assembly
iii) Economic and Social Council
iv) Trusteeship Council
v) The Internal Court of Justice
vi) The Secretariat
A number of specialised agencies work under UNO, some of these are: World bank, FAO, UNESCO, WHO, ILO, etc.
