Since prices of mangoes decreased by 25% I can purchase 4 mangoes more for Rs. 60. What is the original price of one mango????

plzzz telll wid explanation????

Initial cost of the mangoes = Rs. 60

Initial quantity of the mangoes be x.

Since there is a reduction of 25% in the price, i.e., the price of the mangoe is becoming ¾ th of the original price, therefore the quantity that can be purchased now is 4/3rd of the original quantity.

Now ,

(4/3)x can be written as : ( x + 1/3x) , where x is the original amount of mangoes and (1/3x) represents the number of increased mangoes,i.e., 4.

1/3 x of the original quantity purchased = 4

Original quantiy purchased, x = 4 × 3 = 12.

Cost of 12 mangoes initially = Rs. 60

Cost of 1 mango = 60/12 = 5.

Hence, the original cost of each mango was Rs. 5.
