sir my bio maam told that fungi does not have any cell wall but only protien coat. but in the class you told fungi have cell wall. if it has cell wall then it can be killed by antibiotics
Please find below the solution to the asked query
Fungi possess cell wall that is made up of chitin. Antibiotics are medicines that mainly kill bacteria by destroying cell wall, protein synthesis etc. Antibiotics mainly do not work against fungi as they have different cell wall composition. Their cell wall is made up of chitin while the cell wall of bacteria is made up of peptidoglycan.
Antifungals are used to treat fungal infections. They kill fungi by destroying their cell wall.
Hope this information will clear your doubts about the fungi.
