Dear Student,Always remember tht Kinetic energy doesnot depend upon the position it depends upon the velocity of the particle
so at infinity whatever be the velocity according to that KE will be
Potential Energy depend upon the position so if you take PE t infinity as zero then if the particle posses some energy at infinity that means it must be KE
