Sir

The difference between accuracy and precision is not clear. Can you please help me with it ?

Thank you

the example is - In an experiment the true result of measurement of length of a rod is 4.15m

  •  A student's observations for the experiment is 4.12m and 4.13m these values are precise but not acurate as the average of the two observations is not near to the exact value 4.15m i.e. 4.12m + 4.13m/2=4.125m.
  • B student's observations for the experiment is 4.12m and 4.19m these values are not precise as the the two values are not close and not acurate also, as the average of the two observations is not near to the exact value.
  • C student's observations for the experiment is 4.14m and 4.16m these values are both precise and acurate as the average of the two observations is  near to the exact value 4.15m i.e. 4.14m + 4.16m/2=4.15m.

Precision refers to the closeness of various measurements for the same quantity.

And

Accuracy is the agreement of a particular value to the true value of the result.

you would better understand with an example
