Friction is the resistance force acts between the two surfaces in contact.

Friction is the Electromagnetic Force. because, when two surfaces are in contact with each other, then the atoms of each surface makes chemical bonds with the atoms of the other material surface. Therefore, to brake this bonds we have to apply some force. This required force is called the frictional force.

Friction force will be divided into two parts mainly,

1. Static Friction,
2. Kinetic Friction.

Static friction is the frictional force acting between the two surfaces at rest relative to each other and this is self adjustable. Whereas the kinetic friction is a constant force. This acts between two surfaces in motion relative to each other.
