Solve c , d , e

Dear student,
Please find below the answer:

c. The correct option is (3). Guttation is the release of drops of xylem sap on the edges of leaves. Guttation happens due to the root pressure which absorbs excess water and sends it to the leaves. The leaves cannot withstand so much of water pressure and excrete some of them in form of droplets. It generally occurs at night as water loss through transpiration is very less due to less transpiration rate at night.

d. The correct option is (1). The opening and closing of stomata are regulated by guard cells.

e. The correct option is (2). When a plant cell is kept in a hypertonic solution, the cell shrinks. This is because it loses water (water moves from a higher concentration inside the cell to a lower concentration outside).

Hope this clears your doubt.
Regards.
