Hi shruti, this is a very nice question of previous year jee .. and to solve this question first write cos2x = cos^2(x) - sin^2(x) and then the question will become root(cot^2(x) - 1).. now assume cot(x) = sec(theta) and proceed .. Hope it helps !! :)
