Solve it quickly now I have exam

B. Explain why:
1. Inert gases have high Ionisation Potential.
2. Anion has a bigger atomic radius than its parent atom.

Dear student,
Refer below for above asked query:-
B)
1) Inert gases have a stable electronic configuration either of duplet or octet.
Thus removing an electron from a stable atom requires a large amount of energy.
So, Inert gases have high ionisation potential.

2)Anion has bigger atomic radii than it's parent atom.
When an atom gains an electron it forms its anion. This it has more number of electrons but number of protons are same. This electrons are now not tightly bounded to nucleus which result in increase in size.
