As per the question, There are 400 amino acid, therefore the six bases would specify 63 = 216 amino acids,
If sequence of four bases codes for one amino acid, the six bases would specify 64 = 1296 amino acids.
Thus for the synthesis of 400 amino acids, three bases code length will not be sufficient.
So the answer is b. 4.
