a) The insulin hormone is injected into the diabetic patients to control glucose level. The insulin hormone is naturally secreted by the islet cells of the pancreas which signals to the liver, muscles, and fat cells to utilize the glucose either to use as energy or to store in other forms.

b) Iodized salt is important for the proper physical and mental development and growth, the breakdown of fat, temperature regulation, reproduction, and well muscle and nerve function.

c) The deficiency of iodine can impair thyroid function and may result in goiter (increase in the size of the thyroid gland) and hypothyroidism (low thyroid hormone production). The other problem can be miscarriages, mental retardation, low intelligence, and problems with growth, speech, and hearing in children, etc.
